Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Will it cost more to use a travel agent?
Answer: In most cases, the travel agent will be able to locate deals, specials, and promotions that may not be available to the general public, thus saving you more rather than costing you more!

Question: Why should I use a travel agent?
Answer: There are many great reasons to collaborate with a travel agent. A travel agent regularly arranges travel and engages in travel. They are well versed in travel laws and guidelines, familiar with numerous destinations, resorts and excurison providers, as well as other travel components and suppliers. Agents are connected and have personal relationships with various travel suppliers, thus capable of accessing benefits and perks you may not be entitled to receive otherwise. Agents have your best interest at heart and will ensure you receive the greatest value versus the best deal. More importantly, agents provide a safety net for you during travel by making themselves available to provide assistance in the event of an unforeseen emergency.

Having a great travel agent can also make you an instant VIP – free upgrades, special amenities, access to private events, etc.

Question: Do I need a passport to cruise?
Answer:  In many instances, a passport is not required when taking a closed-loop cruise... meaning; you depart from and return to the same U.S. port. However, unexpected situations requiring you to have a passport while on the cruise may arise. Examples:

1. You or your accompanying guest(s) become ill and need to return to the U.S. as soon as possible. The quickest return method would be by flight; however, without a passport, you will not be able to return to the U.S. by flight.

2. A family emergency occurs back home requiring you to return to the U.S. as soon as possible. Again, without a passport you will not be able to return to the U.S. by flight.

3. An unexpected event occurs on the ship, requiring all passengers to be flown back to the U.S. Without a passport you will not be able to return by flight, unless U.S. Customs makes an exception due to the extreme circumstances.

While these scenarios are not intended to scare anyone, they are intended to provoke serious consideration of obtaining a passport, even when cruising. We should never assume that it won't be needed.
